Christina Gednalske is an artist from Sioux Falls, South Dakota (USA), living and working in Phoenix, Arizona (USA). Her work uses various mediums – video, writing, photography, painting, and performance – to examine presence through body, memory, and place. She is a 2019 Phoenix Art Museum Artists' Grant Recipient, and was selected as a finalist in the video category for Premio Combat Prize (2018 and 2019 editions) and the video & animation category for the Celeste Prize 2017 and Premio Celeste 2014. Christina has shown in the United States, Italy, England, Portugal, Venezuela, South Korea, and Spain, and her work has been included in contemporary art exhibitions in renowned institutions such as the Museum of Anthropology and the Museum of Natural History “La Specola” in Florence and the Etruscan Academy Museum (MAEC) in Cortona, Italy.
In both the United States and Italy, she has worked professionally in creative and administrative roles in museums, galleries, and higher-education art and traditional institutions. Christina received her BA in Art from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa (USA), and her MFA in Studio Art from Studio Arts College International (SACI) in Florence, Italy.
